Spread Winter Cheer with Winter Family Photos

‘Tis the season to spread some cheer, and what could be more seasonably cheerful than taking a new family photo for your Holiday cards? Visit Westland Market for a photo with Santa or stop by one of our great local parks to take pictures in a natural setting close to home.

Try Cross-Country Skiing at The Links Golf Course

If you’ve never tried cross-country skiing, why not start this year? The Links at Spruce Grove opens up their course for novices and pros alike, providing a safe space to enjoy this fun winter workout. You can bring your own gear or rent some and stay on the set trails for a fun day out.

Make an Impression on the Ice

An Alberta winter season isn’t complete without outdoor skating. Spruce Grove is home to many outdoor skating rinks that are open for community use for hockey and leisure. The rinks don’t require booking in advance, so you can visit whenever you like. Bring your skates and hockey gear, grab your friends and family, and bring a hot beverage to enjoy after the game!

Feel the Rush While Sledding the Park

When you’re a kid, the best part of a snowfall is the prospect of getting out to one of our many tobogganing hills. Rotary Playscape, Hilldowns Park, and Jubilee Park are great places to take your sled. Your kids will love you for taking them there, plus it’s an excellent and fun way to sneak in a workout while making family memories.

Explore Your Neighbourhood and Try Snowshoeing

Snowshoeing is a fun way to get around once the snow takes over the trails! Don’t have a pair of snowshoes? You can rent snowshoes from the Spruce Grove Public Library to give this winter activity a try before you commit to buying your own gear! We recommend Heritage Grove Park as a great place to enjoy the fresh winter air and take in some breathtaking winter views. Snowshoeing is a great activity that is perfect for kids and adults and a great way to spend any snowy afternoon.
